Steampunk Coat
This coat was made almost 10 years ago and is definitely in need of some TLC. Made with several deadstock fabrics from Hancock Fabrics, this coat is in need of some alterations to be considered “finished” to me.
I do know that I used Simplicity Pattern 2172, metallic lace, gold fringe, and a lot of stretch pleather in a beautiful maroon color that I do have some left of. The changes I would make to this coat would be to take it in, remove or replace the eyelets in the back (they are the cheap ones that shred ribbon), and possibly re-drape or flatline the stretch material. I don’t like how its visibly sagging at the hem.
